Linda Peete holds both a B.S. and M.S. in Education and has made her love of teaching her life's work. She began her journey as a teacher of yoga in 2004 at Faith United Methodist Church, exploring the blending of yoga and traditional Western faith practices. She subsequently taught regular yoga classes at Parkland College and the Mettler Center for many years. Additionally, she has taught workshops in yoga studios, churches, and other centers in the area. Although she continues to offer workshops in the community, her current focus is on yoga and Ayurveda in her home studio, Moving Spirit Yoga.
Linda began her yoga teacher training with YogaFit, where she completed her 200 hours. Appreciating the depth and magnitude of all that is yoga, she was eager to continue learning and growing which she did in Rishikesh, India, as well as at many conferences and workshops throughout the country.
Linda has completed specialized certifications with Sarah Powers in Yin/Insight Yoga®, Relax and Renew® Restorative Yoga with Judith Lasater, and iRest® Yoga Nidra with Richard Miller. In recent years, her curiosity about Ayurveda was piqued through retreats and workshops, and she decided to explore this vast, ancient science further.
In 2014, Linda completed advanced certification at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Wellness to become an RYT-500 and now holds the title of Ayurvedic Yoga Teacher. She is currently enrolled in the Ayurvedic Health Adviser program at Hale Pule Ayurveda and Yoga, based on the island of Kaua’i, Hawaii. She also continues to study yoga with the intention of deepening her personal practice and sharing with her students.
